Residents of Belleville and Hastings County interested in putting their green thumbs to work can do so as part of the community garden program with the Community Development Council of Quinte.
They are now accepting registrations for those who would like to have a garden plot.
The CDC has eight gardens in Belleville and Frankford and they are building additional raised garden beds this year.
They currently have over 100 raised beds available.
Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
The gardens help to increase affordable access to fresh vegetables, offer a sense of community, a connection to the environment and are a great way to get some exercise and fresh air.
Garden locations include:
-160 Roblin Road
-Parkdale Baptist Church, 514 Sidney Street
-Salvation Army Belleville Community Church, 290 Bridge Street West
