For the second meeting in a row, the old Picton Town Hall/Fire Hall will be the main topic up for discussion at a meeting of Prince Edward County council.
At its meeting tomorrow night (Tuesday), council will hear from no fewer than 18 people who will offer their opinions on what council should do with the heritage building on Ross Street in downtown Picton.
Almost all of the speakers want the building kept in the public’s hands for non-profit use and disagree with a recommendation to council asking that public/private partnership proposals be solicited.
One delegation, Michael Hymus, will again outline his proposal to have modest, low priced rooms created for rent in the building while keeping the space around it open for public use.
Prince Edward County council meets at 7 o’clock tomorrow night at Shire Hall.
