BELOW IS A SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT FROM ENVIRONMENT CANADA FOR OUR AREA ISSUED AT 4 A.M. SATURDAY
Snow with the risk of freezing rain tonight. Gusty winds Sunday.
Snow with the risk of freezing rain will begin after midnight tonight and continue into Sunday morning. Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected except for regions closer to Lake Ontario which are expected to receive less than 5 cm of accumulation.
Temperatures will rise above the freezing mark later Sunday morning, ending the risk of freezing rain.
In addition, southwest winds gusting to 70 or 80 km/h will develop on Sunday and persist for much of the day.
Motorists should be prepared for winter driving conditions including accumulating snow and icy roads. Freezing rain warnings may be issued for some areas as the event draws nearer.
The wintry mix and gusty winds are associated with a Colorado low that will track through northeastern Ontario on Sunday.
