The Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls for service between March 8, 2019 at 5 a.m. and March 9, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
On March 8, 2019, at 9:22 a.m., police attended on Bell Blvd. at North Park Street in relation to a three-vehicle collision. One of the cars was towed from the scene. There were no reported injuries. The investigation is continuing.
On March 8, 2019, at 5:02 p.m., police attended at the plaza situated at 180 North Front Street as a vehicle had crashed through the front window of a vacant unit. Belleville Fire Department also attended given that there were structural concerns. There were no injuries. There were no charges, given that this occurred on private property.
On March 8, 2019, at 5:17 p.m., police attended on Yeomans Street at West Moira Street in relation to a two-car collision. Paramedics attended to treat one of the drivers at the scene for minor injuries. A 23-year-old driver was charged with following too closely.
Arrested on warrants
On March 8, 2019, at 11:43 a.m., police attended on Victoria Avenue and arrested a 26-year-old Belleville man on outstanding warrants held by the London Police Service. An escort team from London arrived later in the afternoon to return the accused.
On March 8, 2019, at 3:45 p.m., police observed a wanted male on Front Street. Forty-two-year-old Mark Justin Ferguson, of Belleville, was arrested on a warrant for breaching several of his conditions of bail. He was held for bail on Sat. March 9 on two counts of breaching an undertaking.
