Parents of students whose immunization records aren’t up to date will be getting a second round of notices this week.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health officials say if you can’t provide the school board and health unit with valid immunization records, or a legal exemption by March 22, your child could be suspended for up to 20 days, starting in April.
The health unit says “vaccines are very important to ensure all students in school are as healthy and safe as possible”.
There are four ways that you can update your child’s vaccination record if you get a second notice this week including:
- Through the HPE Public Health ICON system
- By calling the health unit at 613-966-5500 ext 221
- By faxing updated records to the health unit at 613-966-8145
- Or by emailing a photo of the updated record, along with the child’s name date of birth and health card number to CDCIMM@hepeph.ca
