The Conservative Party of Canada will have a candidate in the riding of Northumberland-Peterborough South by the end of the day today.
There is a nomination meeting being held this afternoon at St. Mary’s Secondary School in Cobourg.
Voting begins at 1 p.m. and former Brighton mayor Mark Walas is hoping to represent the riding in this fall’s federal election.
There are four others seeking election.
They will be running against Liberal MP Kim Rudd who was elected in 2015.
