Quinte region firefighters, police, EMS paramedics, and Veridian and Hydro One workers were put on standby as strong gusty winds were forecast yesterday.
But, happily, there wasn’t as much wind damage as many expected although the winds were strong, gusting to over 100 km/h at times in the southern part of Prince Edward County.
Area fire departments report just a few calls involving downed power lines.
Almost 5,000 people in the county were without power for a while yesterday afternoon, but at this point almost everyone in our listening area has power.
There are a handful of small outages being dealt with. The largest are around Glen Ross, in part of the town of Brighton and in an area near the Brighton Speedway.
Power is expected back by 7 this morning (Monday).
Expect another windy day today.
