The 9th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser in support of area food banks is being deemed a delicious success.
People who attended purchased artisan pottery bowls and tried out gourmet soups made by students in the Loyalist College Culinary Program and local chef Michael Hoy, with this year’s event raising $7,200.
Suzanne Quinlan with Gleaners Food Bank in Belleville says the continued success of the event has led them to look at expanding it next year.
Quinlan is thanking everyone who supported the event and says the donated money will make a big difference for food banks around the Quinte Region.
