RCMP say they have seized nearly two tonnes of contraband tobacco and made multiple arrests in eastern Ontario over several days.
The first raid took place 10 days ago, when officers interrupted an alleged smuggling operation behind the Children’s Aid Society building in Cornwall.
Two days later, police say they stopped a pickup truck in South Glengarry, along the north shore of the St. Lawrence River.
A short time later, police say they seized another truck in Summerstown, east of Cornwall. (The Canadian Press)
