There will be a public meeting soon on zoning changes to control where marijuana production facilities will be allowed to locate in the Municipality of Brighton.
Mayor Brian Ostrander says two such facilities are already in the works for the industrial park in urban Brighton and residential neighbourhoods are nearby.
Meanwhile, on another issue, Brighton council is moving ahead with the creation of a bylaw that will make it easier to have apartments or granny flats inside single-family or semi-detached homes.
