Charges will not be laid against the driver of a vehicle who struck two pedestrians at the scene of a house fire in December.
A Quinte West woman, 31-year-old Candice Canning died in hospital after the collision while someone walking with her, a 39-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.
They had been visiting the scene of a house fire along Bellevue Drive on December 12. The roadway was lined with emergency and other vehicles at the time.
Quinte West OPP investigated, and after consulting with the Crown Attorney, it was determined charges were not warranted.
