The Bay of Quinte Marketing Board will be asking the City of Quinte West to up its investment in the not-for-profit which promotes the interests and assets of the entire Quinte Region.
Executive Director Dug Stevenson asked council Monday for a commitment of $1.55 per capita this year, up 25 cents from 2018 and says that ask will go up to $1.80 per capita in 2020, and to $2.05 per capita in 2021.
Mayor Jim Harrison says he thinks the investment is worth it.
Stevenson noted that the 2018 commitment only worked out to 0.08% of the city’s total operating budget and that the investment helps to reach two million people a month through various marketing outlets and award winning products, like the Bay of Quinte Discovery Guide, tourism kiosks and more.
