The playoff push in the OJHL East division continues and both Wellington and Trenton added to their points totals on Friday night.
The Golden Hawks were home to the Whitby Fury at the Duncan Memorial.
The home team jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, with Steven Elliott and Ted Davis netting goals before the 5:20 mark of the first period.
The Golden Hawks were able to carry that lead into the second period before the Fury would cut the score in half with a goal from Jacob DiDanieli.
The Fury continued to push late in the middle frame into the third period looking for a chance to net the equalizer but Trenton was able to regain their two goal cushion when Davis found the back of the net again with just over seven minutes played in third.
Michael Mannara added the empty net goal for the insurance marker.
This was the Golden Hawks third win in a row and keeps them in second place in the division with 59 points.
Trenton will take on Lindsay on Sunday at 7 p.m. at home.
The Dukes moved up into a tie for third in the division with a win on the road on Friday.
Wellington was taking on the Lindsay Muskies and came home with a 4-0 victory.
The Dukes made an impact quickly as they held a 3-0 lead at the end of 20 minutes of play with goals from Elijah Gonsalves, Dawson Ellis and Andrew Rinaldi.
Zack Uens added a powerplay goal in the middle frame to take the 4-0 lead, that the Dukes held onto for the two points.
It was a penalty filled game as the Dukes were whistled for nine penalties including an abuse of an official and inciting an opponent, adding up to 34 minutes spent in the sin bin.
Lindsay served 40 minutes shorthanded on 14 infractions including removal of own helmet, inciting an opponent and a game misconduct for abuse of officials.
Wellington is off until next Saturday, February 9 when they take on Kingston.
In Jr. C action, the Napanee Raiders continue to dominate the East Tod division.
They took on the Campbellford Rebels on Friday night and added to their lead over Port Hope with a 6-1 win.
Devon King got things started in the first period for the home team scoring just over 90 seconds into the game.
The 1-0 lead held into the second frame when Jaco Yohn tied the game up for the Rebels.
It was all Raiders after that as they scored three straight in response for a 4-1 lead at the end of 40 minutes of play. Goal scorers were Jacob Gilbert, King and Humphrey.
Two more goals were added in the third period by Ryan Casselman and Dayton Kent.
The Raiders have a 37-2-0-1 record, good for 75 points this season.
Port Hope sits in second with 55 points.
