Quinte West OPP are beginning a focused traffic patrol on Dundas Street East.
Police data shows an increased number of crashes on the roadway this time of year, typically from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Constable Derrick Osmond says that’s likely due to the increase in traffic volume during those times, but the detachment still wants to make a dent in the amount of crashes on the busy roadway.
The two main pocket areas are on Dundas Street East, between South Street and Scott Street, as well as between Flindall Street and Skyview Trailer Park Road.
Drivers are reminded to pay attention at all times and focus on everything that’s happening 360 degrees around your vehicle.
