Shoplifters
Belleville – On January 23 at 2 p.m. police responded to a north end retail store with regards to the report of a 33-year-old Belleville male and his 13-year-old daughter who had both been arrested for shoplifting. Investigation resulted in the 13-year-old being released without charges but her father was issued a form 9 appearance notice with a February court date to answer to the charge of theft under $5000. Names are being withheld at this time to protect the identity of the young offender.
Overnight and winter parking/stopping
Belleville – City of Belleville residents are reminded that overnight parking is prohibited on any city street from November 2 – April 14 between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. to ensure that snow clearing operations can be completed. Vehicles in contravention of this can be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense.
