The building activity in Belleville during last year slowed down a bit compared to the previous year.
Statistics released by the city’s chief building officer show $114.3 million worth of construction in 2018, compared to $122 million in 2017, down $8 million.
Ted Marecak tells Quinte News Wednesday last year’s numbers include the new police station and Hastings County Home for Good, both at Sidney Street.
He pointed to the new retirement home at 24 Dundas Street West, the Fedex warehouse at 634 College Street East, and the city’s transit garage at 400 Coleman Street.
And Marecak says “it’s looking good” for 2019.
There are 464 lots available for residential development this year.
