Some of the funds raised during the Picton Legion’s 2018 Poppy Campaign are being used to benefit the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Legion Branch 78 representatives presented a cheque worth $3,000 to the hospital today.
Branch 78 raised a total of $19,000 from over 80 poppy boxes located around Picton last October and November.
The money will go towards the purchase of one of nine new infusion pumps, which deliver fluids like medication and nutrients, in controlled amounts.
Each of those pumps costs more than $6,700.
In total, the foundation is trying to raise $255,000 by the end of March and has raised $191,000 to this point.
