Fire destroyed an older 2-storey wood frame house in Tyendinaga Township early this morning (Thursday).
Firefighters were called out at 1:20 to the house at 156 Lazier Road which is not far west of Shannonville Road.
The house was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived on the scene.
The couple who rented the house managed to escape safely.
The fire was under control in one hour’s time but firefighters will be on the scene well into the morning.
The cause is under investigation.
Tyendinaga Township, Mohawk and Belleville Station 4 firefighters responded.
