A well known former Belleville city councillor has passed away.
Joe Cox died this past Monday at Belleville General Hospital in his 85th year.
He served 5 terms on on Belleville city council from 1973 until 1982 and another from 2000 to 2003.
Former councillor Selma Bochnek was on council during some of that time and has
known Joe Cox and his family almost all of her life.

Joe Cox is resting at the Steele Family Funeral Home.
Visitation is tomorrow (Thursday) from 1 p.m.until 3 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The funeral will be held at Calvary Community Church Friday at noon.
