It was a good night for both local Provincial Junior A hockey teams.
In Wellington, the Dukes beat Whitby 4 to 1 despite being outshot 38 to 30.
Dukes goaltender Logan Bateman was outstanding in net.
Andrew Rinaldi had two goals and an assist. Other Dukes scoring were Frank Vitucci and Jacob Thousand.
The game was played in front of 504 fans.
Wellington now hits the road for a game against Georgetown at 7:30 tonight (Saturday).
Meanwhile, Trenton Golden Hawks netminder Benjamin AllardRobitaille stopped all 27 shots he faced as the
G-Hawks defeated Kingston 3 nothing last night.
Scoring for Trenton in a penalty filled game were Samuel Duchesne, Cameron Gaylor, and Matthew Barnes(short-handed).
All of the goals were scored in a six minute time frame in the second period.
Close to 600 fans attended at the Duncan McDonald Community Gardens.
