A Belleville man faces serious charges after running from police yesterday (Friday) morning in the city’s west end.
Police say a man was spotted walking with a large knife jutting out of a back pocket on Parker Street shortly before 9 o’clock.
When police approached he threw the knife down and took off on foot but was caught on Dundas Street West.
During the arrest, officers seized a smaller knife, a canister of pepper spray and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine.
John James Willis, 35, was charged with weapons dangerous, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation.
He has a February 14 court date.
