One of two young men charged after a break-in, theft, and assault at the Trent Port Marina in Quinte West last September has been sentenced.
William Cross, 22 at the time of his arrest, was sentenced to 30 days jail, 12 months probation, and a weapons ban on a break and enter and an assault charge.
Cross had already served 140 days in custody prior to being sentenced.
Another man charged in the same incident, Shayne Desormo who was 31 at the time, remains before the court.
OPP say a small inflatable boat and other items had been stolen from a larger vessel docked at the marina and two days later there was a break-in and assault at the same boat by two men wearing balaclavas.
Police say a flare gun was fired at the boat’s owner but he was not seriously injured.
