Break, enter and theft
On January 8, 2019 at 1:12 p.m. police responded to a home in the north end of the city for a reported theft. An investigation revealed that an outdoor shed was broken into. A snow blower and a quantity of assorted tools were stolen. The investigation is continuing. Police are asking anyone who may have information about this to please contact investigating officer Cst. Arrested on warrants
On January 8, 2019 at 5:46 p.m., a vehicle stop by police in Gananoque resulted in the arrest of a man wanted by Belleville Police. An investigation involving controlled drugs and substances during this initial event led to a man being arrested and turned over to city police on their arrest warrants. Twenty-five-year-old Brandon Cunningham of Lyndhurst Ontario was arrested on outstanding charges of failing to appear for the Identification of Criminals Act and failing to attend court. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on January 9.
