A Belleville business has boosted the Belleville Salvation Army’s Kettle Campaign to within easy striking distance of it’s $200,000 goal.
General Manager of Belleville Nissan Dustin Boyer presented a cheque for almost $9,200 to the Salvation Army today (Thursday).
This brings the Christmas Kettle Campaign’s total to around $198,000.
“The Salvation Army is a great organization and we’re proud to help them out” said Boyer.
Half of Belleville Nissan’s donation came from the public and staff while the rest came from the company itself.
Abby Mills, Director of Community and Family Services for the Army, remains optimistic the goal will be reached before the year ends.
“Just today we received a cheque for $1,000 from a person who’d heard we were a bit short. The community always comes through for us.”
The online donations have not yet been totalled.
Last year, approximately $4,000 was donated online.
You can still donate to the campaign in the next few days. Give the Belleville Salvation Army a call at 613 968 6834.
All money raised goes to various services helping the needy in the Belleville area.
“Our programming won’t be terribly affected if we’re a little short of the goal but believe me we need the money. We’re feeding, clothing, and otherwise helping more people each year. The community can be sure their dollars are needed and will be well spent” said Mills.
