The Mayor of Centre Hastings says the town’s building boom was the biggest highlight for him in 2018.
Tom Deline says he estimates the town used close to $13 million worth of building permits this past year, more than double the annual average, which he says is “tremendous for a little community”.
Deline attributes that growth to people in the eastern GTA selling their homes and relocating, but also to people within the Quinte Region moving further north.
Deline says some good strides were also made on various infrastructure projects through the provincial Connecting Links program, along with the start of development on a new well site and tidying up the town’s lagoon system.
