A cooking mishap was the cause of a fire at a large older home on Picton’s Main Street Saturday night.
Flames spread up from the kitchen into the roof line but most of the damage was contained to the kitchen.
Damage is estimated at $110,000.
Meanwhile, an electrical problem was the cause of a barn fire that killed around 1,200 pigs last week on Gallivan Road in Quinte West.
Hours earlier, fire destroyed a business plaza near downtown Trenton. The cause of that fire is under investigation by the OPP and the Ontario Fire Marshal.
