The former Quinte West public works building is getting a second life, housing two valuable community services.
The building at 30 Pelham Street in Trenton was reopened today as the new home of the Trenton Care and Share Food Bank and Quinte Access.
Al Teal, General Manager of the Food Bank says this new facility is a huge benefit to them.
The food bank has 4,000 sq. ft in the building and Quinte Access has 14,200 sq. ft.
Mayor Jim Harrison says this is a great achievement.
Don O’Neill , chair of the board for Quinte Access says their numbers have increased exponentially.
The Trenton Care and Share Food Bank also received a cheque from Quinte West Fire and Rescue Station 2 for $2,800 from their canvassing for the Food Bank.
