In less than 48 hours, there was almost $2 million worth of damages from three fires in Quinte West.
The OPP have taken over the investigation of the early Tuesday morning plaza fire in downtown Trenton which was the start of the chaos Quinte West firefighters endured.
Damages in that blaze are approximately half a million dollars according to Fire Chief John Whelan.
Fire crews were then called to a barn fire on Gallivan Road Tuesday afternoon which caused a $1 million in damages.
That fire was determined to be electrical in nature.
Less than 12 hours later, firefighters were then called to a residential fire mid-morning on Wednesday.
That fire is under investigation says Chief Whelan and is estimated to have caused $250,000 in damages.
The day ended with even more tragedy when the homeowner’s daughter was then hit by a car in front of the home after crews had left the scene, and she died en route to the hospital.
