UPDATE @ 1:20 p.m.: Quinte West OPP now say the cause of a fire at a plaza in Trenton is suspicious.
Dozens of firefighters responded to the plaza at 33 Ontario Street, which housed LA Video and Urban Liquidation, around 2:20 this morning and flames could be seen shooting through the roof.
Smoke from the blaze set off alarms at a neighbouring apartment building, which had to be evacuated, but firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading.
Damage is estimated over $500,000 and nobody was injured, but now investigators say a suspicious motor vehicle was seen leaving the area, just before the fire was reported.
The Ontario Fire Marshal is also investigating and anyone with information on the fire is asked to call OPP or Crimestoppers.
