Municipal councils in Ontario will soon have to decide if they will allow retail marijuana stores or not.
The deadline is January 22 to opt in or out.
If a council says no to pot stores the decision is final but if it approves retail outlets there will be an opportunity for a change
of mind before an as yet to be determined future date.
Meanwhile, at its meeting Monday, Belleville council will see a staff report on the issue. Staff is recommending council wait for
more detailed information and make a decision at its January 14 meeting.
