Results of the recent Quinte Region Traffic Coalition (QRTC) Festive R.I.D.E. Program resulted in multiple drivers being charged with impaired driving. The program, which was carried out on November 29 within many areas of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties, resulted in three people being arrested and charged with impaired driving, one of which was impaired by drug. A fourth person was issued a three day licence suspension after registering within the warn range for blood alcohol level.
The QRTC would like to remind the public to call 911 if they suspect that a driver is impaired with any substance. While callers should be prepared to provide police with the location and a description of the vehicle and driver, they are not required to provide their name to police.

The QRTC aims to reduce the number of incidents resulting in injuries and deaths on roads, trails, and waterways in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.
