The local United Way is at just under 50 percent of its 2 million dollar goal with just a a few weeks left in the year.
According to the Executive Director of the United Way Kathy Murphy, a little over $989,000 has been raised so far, or 49.5 percent.
However, there are 162 new donors, and major donors 8 Wing Trenton and Procter and Gamble have yet to announce their totals.
Meanwhile, the Hastings Prince Edward United Way raised $6,700 dollars on Giving Tuesday, well above the $5,000 goal.
Murphy is optimistic that the 2 million dollar goal for the year will be reached.
