There are two new subdivisions coming to Prince Edward County.
Council rubber stamped the projects on Tuesday night at Shire Hall.
The two housing developments are next to each other.
One, known as the Frank Street subdivision, will feature 28 single family homes and 30 townhouses.
The other, the Talbot Ridge subdivision, will be a little bigger with 38 houses and 48 townhouses.
Mayor Robert Quaiff says a portion of the new homes will be considered low income housing.
He says work has begun on the projects as the concrete is already being poured for the foundations and the water and sewage infrastructure are being put into place.
The Frank Street subdivision will see Frank Street be renamed Curtis Street and Block 35 be called Buchanan Avenue.
The Talbot Ridge subdivision will see Street A be named Buchanan Avenue, Street B be named Farrington Crescent and Street C named Stirling Court.
