Belleville Police have made an arrest in connection a robbery at city Tim Hortons early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the coffee shop at College Street and Cannifton Road around 5:00 a.m., after an employee said a man came into the store, flashed what looked like a gun and demanded money.
He grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the till and ran from the scene.
Nobody was injured and an initial investigation by the OPP K-9 Unit couldn’t turn up a suspect, but did find some of the stolen cash.
At around 8:00 a.m. a patrol officer saw the suspect walking in the east end and arrested him without incident..
He was found in possession of a pellet gun and the rest of the stolen money.
Twenty-one-year-old Richard Mattatall, of no fixed address, is charged with robbery using a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and using an imitation firearm while committing an offence.
He is scheduled for a bail hearing today.
