Prince Edward County firefighters dealt with a kitchen fire this (Thursday) evening.
Flames broke out shortly before 8 o’clock in the kitchen of a house on Mary Street in Picton.
Firefighters had the smoky fire out quickly and the most serious damage was limited to the kitchen.
Paramedics took two people to Prince Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
