Quinte Conservation is teaming up with the Belleville Fire Department and the City of Belleville to increase safety around some of its water control structures.
Twelve 911 address signs have been installed at six dams across the watershed, which identify an east or west shoreline location and other information, that can be crucial for emergency personnel in the case of an incident there.
Two signs each have been installed at the Arthur Holgate Dam, George and Lois Wishart Dam, Harry Mulhall Dam, Belleville Yardmen Dam, J.H. McLeod dam and the Lott Dam.
Quinte Conservation is still reminding you to always be cautious around bodies of water and their control structure and to stay away from those areas if they are not clearly marked for public travel.
