A 47-year-old man is facing multiple charges, including sexual assault, following a recent incident in Brighton.
Northumberland OPP say officers responded to a reported sexual assault at a home in Brighton on Tuesday.
Investigators say the victim was home alone with her daughter, around 9:30 a.m. and an unknown man broke in and sexually assaulted her.
There was no word on any injuries to the child.
As a result of the investigation Stephane Hotte has been charged with sexual assault, break and enter to commit an indictable offence and being unlawfully in a dwelling.
He was held for a show cause hearing in Cobourg Court today.
