While winter hasn’t officially hit yet, Mother Nature is sure giving the Quinte region a taste of what we could possibly expect in a few months.
The City of Belleville is opening two public facilities as warming centres while we experience these cold temperatures and wind chills.
The Belleville Public Library and the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre are both available for people to get into shelter and get warm.
The Belleville Public Library on Pinnacle Street in the downtown core is open:
Monday – Thursday: 9:30 am to 8:00 pm
Friday: 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday: 9:30 am to 5:30 pm
Sunday: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
The Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre on Cannifton Road is open:
Monday – Sunday 6:00 am until 11:30 pm
The city is also encouraging residents to check on those they know living alone.
