Kidney disease will be the focus as OurTMH holds its annual general meeting this Wednesday.
Chair of OurTMH Mike Cowan says according to the group’s research, the number of people in the Quinte West/Brighton region who will need kidney dialysis will skyrocket soon.
OurTMH plans to present detailed statistics on the prevalence of kidney disease and future predictions directly to the Minister of Health in the near future. The group is pressing to have dialysis offered at Trenton Memorial Hospital.
Other topics of discussion Wednesday will be plans for a health hub near TMH and the city’s doctor recruitment program.
The annual general meeting will be held at 6:30 in Quinte West council chambers.
