Another day, another hard-fought road victory over an East division opponent for the Wellington Dukes.
After wins against the Trenton Golden Hawks and Cobourg Cougars in their last two games, the Dukes grinded out a 3-2 win in Whitby over the Fury, despite being outshot 36-24, including 16-4 in the third period.
Keenan Eddy snapped home the game-winner late in the second frame, and other goals went to Elijah Gonsalves and Frank Vitucci.
Tyson Gilmour, Adam Usinger and Ben Addison drew the assists and Olivier Lafreniere was solid once again in net, making 34 saves, along with 16 in a busy third period, en route to first star honours.
The Dukes are off again until Friday, when they return home after a two-and-a-half week break to face the Lindsay Muskies.
Sunday night sees the Golden Hawks return to action on home ice after a lopsided 7-1 win in Lindsay on Friday. They take on the St. Michael’s Buzzers at 7 p.m.
