A 34-year-old woman has been arrested after a gun-related call in Brighton early this morning.
Northumberland OPP responded to a home on Telephone Road, just after midnight and members of the Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit and crisis negotiators had to be called in as well.
The woman was taken into custody without incident, about four hours later and two children inside the home were found unharmed and were taken by a family member on the scene.
The woman, whose name is not being released due to the circumstances of the incident, is charged with possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and ammunition, unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm and careless use of a firearm.
She was held for a bail hearing in Cobourg court.
