Belleville Senators rookie sensation Drake Batherson is getting some AHL-wide recognition after a big weekend.
The 20 year-old forward has been named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week, after registering seven points over two games against the Toronto Marlies on the weekend, including six points on Friday night alone.
The fourth round pick by Ottawa in the 2017 NHL draft is now one point off the American Hockey League scoring lead, with 20 points in 14 games and is tied for the AHL rookie scoring lead, with his seven goals being the most by an AHL rookie so far this year.
The Senators are off until Wednesday when they continue their five game home stand against the visiting Utica Comets.
Game time Wednesday is 7:00 p.m., with 800 AM CJBQ’s coverage starting at 6:50 p.m. for Eastern Overhead Doors and Deerhaven Farm and Garden.
