The weather is being blamed for a number of crashes in the Quinte Region yesterday.
A two vehicle crash on Highway 62, south of Madoc, closed the road between Preston Road and Crookston Road.
The highway was closed for a number of hours and wasn’t re-opened until 11:30 p.m.
Social media reports say the collision caused a fatality but the police are not confirming that information.
The 401 eastbound at Deseronto Road in Napanee was also closed for a few hours yesterday following an accident involving a transport truck.
The highway was reopened around 11 p.m.
There were a number of minor accidents in town as well.
Belleville Police say there were 11 collisions between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
One collision saw an elderly woman taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Drivers are again reminded to slow down, adjust to weather conditions and take extra time to get where they’re going.
