There are new co-chairs and a new location, but the goal is still the same for Operation Red Nose Quinte – get people home safe and sound this holiday season.
On Saturday morning, the 15th annual campaign officially launched at the spacious Avaya Building at 250 Sidney Street, which will be the new home of Operation Red Nose.
The not-for-profit program offers free rides home to people and their vehicles across the Quinte community through the holiday season.
About 150 people were introduced to 2018 honorary co-chairs Sean Kelly and Orlena Cain of Mix 97.
Chairman of Operation Red Nose Quinte Rick Watt talked about the positives of having the two radio personalities on board for this year’s campaign.
Watt also talked about the importance of having dedicated volunteers.
Donations are accepted and all proceeds will go to support local programs.
Last year, around $30,000 was raised by Operation Red Nose.
This year’s campaign begins November 30 and runs through to New Year’s Eve.
Visit the Operation Red Nose website for more information, and a link to volunteer.
