As we prepare to honour those who fought and lost their lives in the first and second world wars this weekend, one Centre Hastings resident says there are some other key service members who we shouldn’t forget.
Tom Simpson says he’s is upset that he’s been told he can’t lay a wreath with purple poppies, recognizing animals who have served in wars, at the local cenotaph.
Simpson says he’s not trying to cause an uproar, but feels honouring war service animals is important.
Simpson says he’ll write that letter to Legion Command and see if a change to the policy can be made moving forward.
