A hair salon owner has been named 2018’s Remarkable Woman.
Melissa Payton of KOR Hair Studio received the recognition at The Intelligencer’s 17th annual event at Occasions by the Bay.
She was one of 12 women nominated this year.
Payton was described as dedicated, selfless and as someone who strives to do great things for adults and children alike in the community.
Payton says this has been a whirlwind last few months.
First runner up was Kim Taylor of Taylor Studios and second runner up was Ruth Aulthouse of RFA Planning Consultants.

Nominees this year included: Michelle Stroud, Sarah Searles, Susan Walsh, Bobbi Aruljothi, Mandy Keller, Dr. Andrea Sorichetti, Michele Rees, Rachel Revoy, Gloria Anne Richards and Kim Taylor.
Kristin Crowe was this year’s guest speaker and she was presented with an honourary Remarkable Women award.
