The Belleville Police Service responded to 62 calls for service between November 7, 2018 at 5 a.m. and November 8, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
On November 7, 2018 police responded to eight motor vehicle collisions across the city. Five of the collisions were deemed to be minor in nature.
At 7:22 a.m. police attended on North Front Street at East Moira Street regarding a two-car collision. One of the cars was towed from the scene. A driver was charged with failing to stop at a red light. There were no injuries.
At 12:15 p.m. police attended on Bell Blvd at Hannah Court regarding a two-car collision. Minor injuries were reported as both cars were towed. A driver was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.
At 5:10 p.m. police attended on Sidney Street at Parkdale Drive regarding a three-car collision. One of the vehicles was towing a trailer. A 30-year-old Belleville man was issued a 3-day licence suspension as he had been consuming alcohol. He was also charged with careless driving and driving without insurance.
Intoxicated persons
On November 7, 2018, at 9:29 a.m. a 56-year-old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection by officers at the courthouse on Bridge Street West. He was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
On November 7, 2018, at 8:26 p.m. officers attended at a residence on Moira Street East regarding an unwanted person on the front porch. The occupants did not know the shoeless person on the porch. A 27-year-old Belleville woman was arrested for her own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. She was issued a provincial offence notice.
