The Belleville Police Service responded to 58 calls for service between October 3, 2018 at 5 a.m. and October 4, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Suspicious Halloween Candy
During the evening hours of November 2, 2018 police attended an address in the east end connected to the suspicious Halloween candy incident. Police spoke with an elderly couple and were able to determine that the pill that was placed in a bag of jelly beans was accidental. The pill is used for cholesterol management and was inadvertently placed in the bag. There will be no further police action.
Warrants
At 4:55 p.m. on November 3, 2018 police located a male suspect wanted on a warrant for breach of probation on William Street. Forty-eight-year-old Terry Cheverie of Belleville was arrested without incident and will appear in Belleville Bail court on November 5.
Impaired
At 8:50 p.m. on November 3, 2018 police observed a vehicle driving erratically on Dundas St E near Elmwood Drive. The vehicle was stopped and after further investigation a 25-year-old Belleville man was arrested and later charged with impaired driving. The male was later released on a Promise To Appear and will appear in Belleville court later this month.
