A Stirling man is facing charges following a disturbance and a crash in Belleville.
Around 9:45 p.m. Friday, Belleville Police officers were called to Pine Street and found out that a man in a vehicle had been in the area and was looking to fight another man.
That man came out of the residence with a number of friends and confronted the vehicle’s driver.
The man in the vehicle drove off at a high rate of speed and crashed into a nearby parked vehicle, then fled the scene.
The vehicle that was parked sustained serious damage.
There were also three people in the suspect vehicle, one of them being a small child. The child sustained minor injuries.
The suspect vehicle was located abandoned on University Avenue. Approximately one hour after the incident, the suspect driver turned himself in to Belleville Police.
Twenty-four-year old Brandon French was charged with failing to remain and careless driving, both under the Highway Traffic Act. He was released with a court date of December 3, 2018.
