Quinte West OPP is using Focused Patrols to attempt to reduce collisions in targeted areas throughout the city during the month of November.
Officers from the Quinte West OPP Detachment will be focusing their attention and efforts on increasing police visibility along Highway 14 between Stirling and Wallbridge Loyalist Road in the city of Quinte West. Officers will be educating and promoting safer driving practices to the motoring public along this stretch of highway in addition to increased enforcement.
Analytical data shows that collisions are likely to occur in this area mostly due to poor weather conditions that arrives this time of the year.
OPP are reminding drivers to reduce speeds and maintain vehicles for poor winter road conditions. Proper tires, clearing snow and ice off vehicles and allowing more time for travel will decrease your chances of being involved in a collision.
